EVERY YEAR WHEN Holiday Review Guide season arrives, we roll the dice trying to get the most beautiful models and the hottest gear to appear in these pages. This year we had a revelation: what better place to gamble on such an endeavor than Las Vegas, the most infamous adult playground, where fortunes are won and lost? Luckily, we didn’t need to hedge our bets. We hit the jackpot with the vo luptuous Holly Madison-star of the E! channel hit show Holly’s World and lead in the new Vegas strip burlesque Peepshow-and her friends Angel Parrino and Laura Croft. The three lovely ladies answered our call to show off their curves with the latest and greatest gear-and to do it in some of Las Vegas’ most extreme locations.

For starters, the girls chilled out at the Monte Carlo Resort’s new Minus 5 Ice Bar, where everything from the drink glasses to the scenery is made office.

Cool off from the casinos with a drink you can bet on.

Everything inside this watering hole is made of ice. The staff changes the sculptures every few months to keep things fresh. Sometimes the pieces reflect what’s happening in Las Vegas, such as an ice bull for the Professional Bull Riders event.

Guests are provided with insulated jackets to stay warm and can unwind on ice couches covered with deer skin.

With just 48 hour’s notice, Ice Occasions will entomb the Aaron Lelah Jewelers ring of your choice into either a crystal clear ice sphere or cocktail glass made from pure Canadian glacier water. Lovebirds first get suited up in faux fur coats and hats before being sent inside one of Minus 5’s two world-famous Vegas ice lounges. There amid the carved ice statues, pelt-covered loveseats and chandeliers, the drinks are presented to the couple and the rest is up to him. Interestingly, the Monica is so-named for a Minus 5 bartender engaged three times in two years. But perhaps that’s a bit of trivia best left on ice.

It’s no secret there are plenty of places in Las Vegas where you can sit around and have a drink. Some are romantic, others are just plain parties waiting to bust out on to the Las Vegas strip. You’re on vacation, go ahead and have a few drinks and then relax and have one more. Melt away the stress of everyday life and reinvent yourself if only for a few days. Las Vegas is all about allowing yourself just a tiny bit of irresponsibility and recklessness. Go ahead, have too much fun and then go back you hotel and take a nap.

Where you should have a drink in Las Vegas:

• Mandarin Bar at Mandarin Oriental Las Vegas – Sit along the window and take a long look down the Las Vegas strip from the 23rd floor.

• Parasol Down at Wynn Las Vegas – This is the place I go for the early afternoon drink. Sit out on the deck and have a stiff one as you gaze across at the water and up to the large trees. It is relaxing and the atmosphere tempts you to stay all day.

• Cabo Wabo Cantina Las Vegas – A “Waborita” with a view from the deck just steps from the Las Vegas strip. The music is on, the drinks are flowing and the sun is shinning. It is very Las Vegas.

• Minus 5 Ice Lounge – An ice bar with very cold vodka drinks and a little bit of Vegas flair. You won’t stop in here all the time but it is interesting to take a look at.

Portable igloos to debut in both Whistler and Vancouver

LAS VEGAS, Feb. 9 — /PRNewswire/ — Minus5, who opened America’s first ice lounge, will be debuting their new concept, The Minus5 Igloo, during the Winter Olympics. The portable ice lounges will be unveiled at Monk McQueen’s Restaurant and Patio in Vancouver, BC and Monk’s Grill at the base of Whistler Mountain beginning this week. The portable structures will be at both locations for the next two months.

Created in New Zealand, Minus5 is an ice lounge where you can touch, feel, and explore handcrafted ice sculptures and ice architecture made from 100% pure ice.
